I guess I fibbed a little white lie. LOL. I let my brother have the project boat from its owner for the $200.00 asking price. he has a 72 formula with a bad superstructure. {major delamination issues}. My finders fee was that I kept the almost pristeen windshield. He got the excelent condition superstructure. After he swaps them out he intends to put it up for sale without a trailer to recover his $200.00 investment. I think we all know how major project boats without trailers sell. I will probably end up with it eventually and turn it into an open fisherman with twin outboards. The hull needs some, if not total stringer replacement but that will go pretty quickly. in the mean time I have put a deposit on a 1976 233 that is a two owner boat and has spent the last 25 years on davits and under cover when not being used. She is age worn but mechanically in excelent condition. She has twin 165 hp. mercruisers that purr like a kitten. I went for a ride in it AFTER I made the deal to buy it. At 2700 rpm. it was going 33 mph, by the spedo. not even working hard to perform at this level. Ironicly the man I bought it from lives in the same neighborhood as I do so there were no transportation issues. The unfortunate thing is I can't use it for the next six months as work back in Alaska is calling me. I wish my truck was here because it would be in Valdez and fishing for Halibut and Salmon in Prince William Sound. Oh well, I quess I'll have my completely restored 72, 19 ft. thunderbird Apache shipped up as my Alaska boat. Life is so full of chalenges. LMAO!!!
