Look at This Set Up!
Can any of you formula fans comment on this set up of twin V-8 FORDS installed in this early 70’s or late 60’s Formula 233 hull? I cannot seem to find anyone who has experienced this set up. I have seen twin inline 6’s and 4’s, but not any V-8’s.

Yes, single big block would be as fast but there is something about firing off one V8....then another. And, there is a certain safety factor but a twin 233 won't plane on one engine although it will get you home....I know.

Better be sure to check Ye Olde Transom / Stringers / & Fuel tank before you do anything :)

The floor, stringers, and transom are all on the rebuild list. I have time to figure out the power options, but I am investigating that as I go along.

Randy, my 1978 233 is a twin engine application. Original 350 CID Chevy 265's. There are not a lot of them. Ah, I see David has replied.

I've been lurking on the site all winter finally joined I picked up a 79 233 interceptor back in the fall its powered by twin 350's, the twin V8's are defiantly pretty rare I've searched the net high and low and have found only a hand full of them

Its nice to see another twin inboard 233. I currently have a 1979 233 interceptor with twin Mercruiser 300 tempest 350 ci's with alpha 1's. I'm am finishing a complete replacement of the stringer, gas tank, floor, cabin, and cockpit. I bought it in september 2010 and worked through the winter.....
