joined to see if anyone knows abouy 1979 maxum marine copy of 233. I have deposit on # 001. How did they get the mold? It's identical.

I wasn't aware of that and I don't recall ever seeing one. I thought the 233 was produced through 1979 by Formula. Edencraft of Australia is still producing the 233 hull. I wonder if Maxum just "splashed" a knockoff? That happened quite often in the boating industry. Would you post pictures of the Maxum you are purchasing?

I am in the marine industry and am familiar with splash molds. I have always thought that there had to be a certain amount of changes made to avoid copy lawsuits. I'll try to post a pic and also look up Edencraft. Learn something new every day.

Sure looks like a 233. Look up Alan Balls profile here on the registry. Alan runs the Edencraft manufacturing facility. If you place your question in the Forum section you will probably get more responses.
