Time to install a new fuel tank.  I haven't removed the old one but I wanted to order a new one.  Can someone advise me of the dimensions?  I have  a 1971 233.  I have an 80 gallon tank now but with the limited use of the boat I am having fuel issues even with regular additives.  I am considering a 40 gallon tank as it would be easier to manage the fuel e.g. keeping it full, and running it through faster.  40 gallons would give me over a 100 mile range which is more than adequate for me.   Also any tips on replacing the tanks?  Thanks.

I just pulled a fuel tank out of a 1970 233 yesterday. It is a galvanized tank and weighs at least a 150 lbs. Here are the dimensions- length 72"- width 25"- side wall 9.5"- in the center 13.5".  I have pictures I can send. Hope this helps

Thanks a lot that helps.  Any additional pics would be appreciated.  If that blue boat in the back is yours it looks just like mine.  There are pics of mine one in the water with the Honda kicker and 2 on the trailer.

Mine is a 83 223 with a 100 gl aluminum tank.  tank side 10" center 13.5 length 8' had to remove it was leaking what a PITA, debating weather  to fix or replace. Did you find a smaller tank that would fit
