Horse power = speed ?

      Need technical assistance reguarding horse power = speed.  Currently own a 1979 233 formula cuddy and i am pulling out the merc cruiser 5.7 liter 260 hp engine and want the next application to allow me to at least be able to get the boat up to 50mph.  I was thinking of installing a 383 stroker fuel injection 350 hp application, how fast would i go? What should i use for on outdrive application a volvo or bravo set up?

I put a 2010 5.7 Mercruiser 275 hsp carb engine with a Bravo 3 drive in my 1972 233.
Boat really moves, + 50 and only burns 6-8 gallons of fuel per hour.
No trim tabs, the Bravo 3 brings her out of the water straight as an arrow, stays level on plane.
Really happy with the performance!
