g'day all, i bought this 233 last year and have just finnished re-building both chev 250ci motors, the boat will go in this year for a full re-build, i replaced the very old run down trailer with a great second hand one that i bought from anthony who has the great looking blue 233 here on this site..hi anthony...will try and show pics before and after.
Hi Nick, funny you should stumble on this site. Good to see the trailer back under a 233 where it belongs. Seems we are both 233 tragics. We had "big blue" on the water a lot over Xmas and got a little too close to some fire works on NYE. Even went fishing last weekend, caught nothing as the boats around us kept pulling up fish. Anyway, we had more drinking time then they did. Look forward to seeing your rebuild. So now with the engines re-built anything else serious needs to be done or just cosmetic stuff?
Hi Nick, sounds like you are in for some serious working sessions. Worth the time I promise you. Good luck and look forward to seeing the progress. Let me know if I can help in some way. I will post some more photos on this site which may give you some ideas. Cheers, Anthony.
Hi Nick Lee Wahry here, Magnum force and I have some history together. When my father owned her she had slant 6 Valiant motors in her at first, then he put the 250 falcon motors in her witch were a lot lighter than the slant 6 valiant motors. She traveled many times back and forward from Morton Island to shorncliffe every weekend. And many a fishing trip and also used in many search and rescue operations because of her rough water ability of course and always bringing home the goods with the sandgate yacht club before the club had there own boat, Dad sold her for a 26ft Haines the ex-race boat "softy "John and Gary Haines boat. Anyway I than brought magnum force back again and the guy that my father sold it to attacked the bottom with grinder and painted her yellow, “She was red before Nick” and that windscreen that swings forward is the best thing. It came from USA before John Haines started making the windscreens here. I will find some old photos of her. Anyway I used her for fishing and diving for about 4 years and I had big intensions of shelling her turning her underside down and starting again. But the house and work changed and I sold her to a guy down at Hemmant in Brisbane and then lost touch with her. She has had some changers since I had her “That bow rail and toilet what was he thinking. “What a mess”. Any way I am shore he had his resins. Nick it looks like you are doing a great job mate. I will send you some photos of her; there old photos and I will have to scan them in.
Keep up the great work. The formula is really the best boat ever made.
