Thanx for the "welcome", I just started a complete restore and modification of a 1972 (???) that my dad traded some work for 10+ years ago and found this site while looking at some others. It will be a little while but when I get it finished I'll post some pics of the work and the finished product.

THX. I was up in Westbrook CT. today visiting Dangerous Dan to check on the progress. I'll post some new pictures later today. Met with the East Coast Mercury rep, He suggested a 350 Magnum package with the Bravo 3 drive. Too much $ however....gotta draw the line somewhere ? I think I'm going to go with the 5.7 carb version with the Alpha 1 drive. A lot less $, and I think it will be fine for cruising the LI Sound. (unless somebody tells me different)

Thanks David.

I bought the boat this Friday as a project for the winter. The layout differs from any 233 I’ve seen, wife and two daughters loves it but it´s a mile off my classic dream.
Hope for comments and suggestions on what to do once I get some pictures up.

Cool wil do the guy I got it from in Vegas did a decent amount of work but also thought it was ok to wash the engine and filled it with water so I'm going to be pulling it out this weekend. ill have some pics of it up today. I was wondering what the cabin looked like new he pulled the roof liner off and I'm not .100 percent on the material it should be or if I should just glue carpet to it. The boat is a 1982 ls

Thanks, really nice to be welcomed by mister Tubb. It's becaus of you, I bought a Formula 233. This winter I will rebuild the engine, the electrical wiring and build a swim platform. I think I will fit a silent choise also. The swedish goverment don't like loud pipes. It'll be fun to ride an american boat and se how it compares to scandinavian boats. I had a Hydrolift F23 before. The same length and engine but the Hydrolift weight 2000lbs and did about 63 kts with 260hp.
Do you know where I can find drawings for a original swim platform?

Best regards

/Gustav

thanx for the welcome, david. i can see from your pics you're not much into fishing either!! more info about my 233- NOTHING from the head gaskets up is made by mercruiser or G M .not one nut, bolt, washer, NOTHING. all aftermarket and high- performance. i've seen 68 mph on gps with a borrowed spinelli 4 blade wheel. am interested in hearing from any one else into the TRUE legacy of the 233. performance!
