original out drive?

Hi, im a new member and need some info from you guys that have done it! i just bought this boat and am going to put in a 600 hp 496 in it. my problem is this out drive looks like it came off the mayflower? im not sure what it is? im being told i cant even get parts for it? i would like to know what i need for an out drive and id there an adaptor? to lets say a bravo? any help would greatly be appreciate! also i have been building racing engines for over 30 years now and i will help anybody with info or parts. i have a very large selection of chevy small and bigblock parts hi-performance parts and love to wheel-n-deal!! thanks Ron Smith..

Hi Ron its probably a TR or TRS outdrive these are very strong but its hard to say without a picture. If your gona run high horsepower they are the way to go. 600HP is alot so there may be a better aplication im just not aware of it.
