Formula 233 Registry

The premier site for owners of the famous 233.

I have acquired a handsome old Formula Thunderbird, and I am interested in finding out the age of her.  I have spoken with formula, who said by serial number (F231207) she is old but knows little else.  If there are any source area experts I would appreciate the info.  The hull has TWIN FORD 351’s mated to MerCrusier outdrives, and it all appears to be original.  Thanks for any help you can give.

Looks like mine, which I believe to be a 1972?
I think it may be a 1972 as well.  Now I want to find someone who has one of these with twin V-8s as well.  Thanks for your id.  What is your Vessel number?

F23122381

I also called the factory, at some point their was a fire that destroyed most of the records there, therefore they had no record of the serial #, but an old time tech put the age between 1969 & 1972.  I think they started ID'ing hulls in 1972, and mine is tagged on the right side of the transom, she is also titled as a 1972. Yours looks exactly like mine, same dash, windshield, steering wheel, throttles, curved gunwale, etc. I removed those boxes on either side of the cockpit interior floor. The port side contained nothing, the starboard side housed all the cables and wiring,(which were all rotted). Removing them really opened up the cockpit, gives it a cleaner look. Running all the cables etc. down the inside starboard gunwale.
