Formula 233 Registry

The premier site for owners of the famous 233.

HI

I JUST THOUGHT ID SHARE MY REFURBISHMENT OF OUR FORMULA WE HAVE OWNED 30 YEARS,  WE HAVE FULLY RESTORED IT AND APPLIED QUEENSLANDS CURRENT COMMERCIAL STANDARDS WITH POSITIVE BUOYANCY AND FULL SELF DRAINING DECKS,  ALL RESTORED STRUCTURALLY WITH 80KG FOAM AND VINYL ESTER RESINS IN THE LONGITUDINALS  AND STRINGERS AND FLOOR.

WE CHOOSE TO POWER IT WITH A SINGLE YAMAHA 300HP WHICH I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH SPEED AND AWESOME FUEL ECONOMY.  WE FITTED A 450LTR FUEL TANK WITH FULLY VENTED FUEL CELL WITH TWIN 50MM VENTS.

THE FINAL WEIGHT ON OUR  TRI- AXLE TRAILER FULLY LOADED WE ONLY WEIGH 3.4TON.

THE HARDTOP CONSTRUCTION IS ALLOY AND TOUGHENED GLASS WINDOWS FRONT AND SIDES, THE HULL WAS FULLY FAIRED AND TWO PACK PAINTED IN STERLING REPAIRABLE PAINT.

I HOPE YOU LIKE IT REGARDS JIM

Looks like a great re-build Jim. Looking at that structural pic, I wander if you guys fully assembled and fiberglassed the entire structure before putting it in the boat? I know some boat builder do that. Look forward to your reply.  Regards, Spiro
