Can I swap the hull cap

I have a 1969 that needs a lot of work to the hull. I’ve come across a 1970 that has a nice hull but the hull cap is junk. The hull caps appear to be similar in size and design but the helm is different. My question is: Can I just swap the hull caps and how difficult is that to do?
