cuddy deck repair question

Hello fellow formulites....

I have 233 interceptor in need of some core repair ..my question is I am adding a bulkhead towards the front of the cuddy should I tab it to the hull and or to the underside of the deck as I do the repair? not sure if it will make a difference..to the hull if I do but it will definatley help with the kids dancing on the deck when we are resting on the water...and my piece of mind
