Formula 233 Registry

The premier site for owners of the famous 233.

I may be getting this boat tomorrow from a buddy and need some info. This is what I know...

It says Formula on the rear down both sides.
It has a spot for two drives but one is missing, (I will need one of these obviously)
I think he said it has twin inline 6 Chevies.
It has a fold down canopy looking think that folds down to the transom. Is this a full fold up canopy?

Anything else you can tell me would help. There are two pics attached.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Looks like an older 233. Check the hull id on the top right of the transom. You can call Formula with that number and they can tell you. Link to the Formula website on the Links page.
This is the newest info I have. I have the H.I.N? It was not where you said it would be though, it was on the left side of the entrance of the cuddy cabin if you are looking from the back of the boat. The number is F2317180. Also the info on the Mer-cruiser Stern drives is the following Serial number 3080936 (it is on the left side of the right hand drive as looking at the back of the boat) on the right side of the same drive is HP 165. The left side drive is missing as can be seen in the pic of the rear. I am in need of info about the drives so I can find the parts I need to fix it. The bell-housing and transmission of the drive is there the only part missing is the section of the drive that bolts to the piece sticking through the transom. I am new to boats so this is all greek to me, sorry for not knowing the proper names of the parts.
Call Formula with the ID and see if they can help you. You should be able to pick up a Mercruiser service manual online. You might want to call Mercruiser to find out what drives those are, I suspect Mercruiser standard or #1 drives.
