Pod or no pod for outboard

What is everyone's experience/opinion about pod's for outboard? What are the pros and cons compared to a notch? Also fibreglass v's alloy

I have a pod mounted 300 Suzuki on mine. wouldn't have it any other way. mine has been fully reglassed so not sure it it's heavier than factory but would not be happy with a 250. and I cannot see how they get there speed and economy figues. mine burns exactly what the specs say at WOT, that is 91lts/hr and that's at 52mph. I cruise at 34knts with a consumption rate of 56lts/hr. the hulls are designed to travel at speed and that is where they perform the best.
