At 12:10am on April 8, 2008, Alex said…: David, The red 233 is a boat i bought while restoring the thunderbird. The previous owner was a customer in the boatel where i work. He sorta restored it but ran out of cash when he figured out he needed a engine. I put a used engine in a couple years ago and have been using it since. Both boats have couter rotation propeller sterndrives. The thunderbird has a mercuiser and the red formula has a volvo. The thunderbird with the mercruier sterndrive has aprox 100 more hp and blows the formula away. Top speed on the formula is 38 mph, the top speed on the thunderbird is 57 mph.
