Formula 233 Registry

The premier site for owners of the famous 233.

Hi,

Previous owner installed new fuel tank and new upholstery 2 years ago. But he used household plywood and it has all deterioated.

Problem is the bottom and back of bench seat, the wood is too broken up to make a new piece. Anyone have any ideas of how to get a template to copy?

Thanks!!

Ronnie

I would be an upholstery shop can build it for you.

Ronnie,

Did you get your measurements?  I have the same year but not sure if it's original as mine was last upholstered in 1996.   I'm planning on letting mine ride out another season or two and completely replace the back seat and possibly make new arm rests like the ones on the 84+ years with cup holders.

Its not a complicated job and I'm sure I will get blasted from someone on the forum but I have used green treated lumber and coated it with resin the next day.  Key point here is to coat the wood with resin before the green treat dry's and has a chance to warp.

Let me know if you would like me to get the measurements and hopefully someone can verify them before you go cutting.

Eric
